Permanence...

Today I've been thinking a lot about permanence.  So much in my life changes.  Just in the last 6 years or so I've gotten married, finished Seminary, moved cross country 3 times, started at a church, planted a church, moved locally, and met a ton of new and awesome people.  It seems like life is full of surprises every day...some good...some bad.

I was listening to a song earlier today called "Messiah" by Phil Wickham where he says,

"Look, the road is narrow and hard to find
With secret battles inside our minds
Who can last
God we need your strength to fight
Your light to guide us into the night
You're our only chance"

I realized that in all of the fast changing lives we live, there is always one place that we can turn to that is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow and that is Jesus.  The changes we go through sometimes are joyous.  I know many of you have become new parents/grandparents, taken on new jobs, moved, gotten through health issues, had some dramatic relationship changes, started going to church/changed churches, and so on.  Sometimes the changes are tougher, though: losing your house, friends/family moving away, losing your job, kids falling away, health issues overcoming you, relationships ending, etc.  In all of these fast changing times, know that you have one permanency that is unchanging...Jesus.  He is always there for you to forgive you and to guide you onto the narrow way to eternal life.
